Chelsea NYC: FAQ

When and where is the Chelsea 2025 event? Sunday, Oct 5th, on West 21st Street, between 9th & 10th Avenues, from 12:00-2:00PM.

How can I sign up? Registration is now open on Eventbrite. Go here to sign up.

Can I volunteer? Yes! We need table captains, greeters, help with setup and breakdown, photographers/ videographers and more. Email us at events@longesttablecommunity.org.

What is a Table Captain? Table Captains serve as mini-hosts. They either invite friends, family, colleagues (typically 8-10), organize who brings what, and decorate, OR they host tables of neighbors meeting for the first time. In either case, their job is to help everyone feel welcome.

Can I come alone? Absolutely! Hosts will help you find a seat and connect you with others – it's a great way to meet new neighbors and make friends.

Is the event accessible? The event is on the street and accessible to all.

Are kids welcome? Everyone is welcome – young, old and everything in between! We set up a kiddie corner to make it easier for little ones to play while parents enjoy the meal.

Are dogs welcome? Of course. Dogs on leashes are welcome to join the fun.

What should I bring? We provide tables, chairs, tablecloths and garbage cans. You bring everything else: food + drink, plates, silverware, etc - and friends! If you’re connected to a Table Captain, coordinate with them. If you’re solo, bring something for yourself and something to share.

Is there a cost to attend? No. This is a free community event made possible by neighbors.

What happens if it rains? We don’t have a rain date. If it drizzles, we keep going. If it pours, we cancel. We will notify via Eventbrite, email, social media by 9:00AM event day.

Who is behind The Longest Table? The Longest Table is an initiative of NYCNext, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

How can I donate? Donations are welcome and will be used to cover hard costs associated with The Longest Table movement. If you'd like to support our work, Donate here.
